Out of the Box Again!

I can't even tell you how excited I am! I can't! This week's theme for Out of the Box was Portuguese food! You may assume I'm excited because I love Portuguese food, but quite to the contrary, until yesterday, I had absolutely no idea what Portuguese food was and didn't even realize it was a thing. I mean, if someone had asked me, "Is Portuguese food a thing?" I probably would have said, "I assume so," but I'd just never thought about it before.

WHAT??? PASTRIES??? These are from a Portugese bakery/cafe in Sherman Oaks called Natas Pastries.  These were delicious.

Yesterday, I didn't know what piri-piri sauce was, but today I made some, thanks to a recipe from Out of the Box! It was quite delicious as a marinade on grilled chicken, with a side of fries. There was even Portuguese cheese in the box this week! Jonathan and I are so excited. It's going to be an entire week of foods we've never eaten before.
