I'm Obsessed with Stylebook
So, so, so, so, so obsessed. I can't even. Stylebook an app for iOS that helps you organize your real-life clothes, arrange them into looks a la Polyvore, calendar your outfits, make packing lists, and, you know, other stuff. This is perfect for me. I can procrastinate whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing by putting together outfits and calendaring them, and then, when I wake up in the morning, there will be a picture of the day's outfit waiting for me. This is great because I like clothes, but deciding what to wear is my least favorite thing ever (probably because I sleep hard and wake up confused). You can even view which of your items hasn't been used in any outfits, which is especially useful when it comes to deciding what to purge. The biggest danger now is losing myself in a black hole of outfit-making. It's addictive!

Comic Book Lingerie
Comics and lingerie. Two great tastes that taste great together. Or something. Actually, that was kind of gross. Should we forget that just happened? Okay!
Have you guys seen this Etsy shop? Because WHAT??? This woman is a genius or a demigod. We can pretend girls just buy these things to make guyscatatonic happy, but you know some of them just want Wolverine to touch their pudding-filled balloons. Haha. Remember when the kids used to do that? Turns out it is not that accurate!* Either way, this stuff is just splendid, and I am sad it seems to only come in A-D.
*I probably just ruined someone's day with that. Sorry. FYI, I think anybody who's touched boobies would attest that they're more like bricks in a garbage bag or Lucky Charms in a rubber glove. Amiright, guys? It can't just be mine.

My First Stitch Fix!!
Wow. This has been a while in the making. A couple days ago, my first Stitch Fix came in the mail! If you already know what this is, commence ogling of photos. If not, read on.
Stitch Fix is a by-mail styling service. You fill out an exhaustive survey about your fashion likes and dislikes, size, and spending preferences, and they send you five items to try on. You pay for what you keep and send the rest back to them. Postage is covered both ways. The cost is $20 per shipment, which you get back as a credit if you decide to buy anything in the box. If you don't want anything, you're just out the $20. Pretty cool, right?
Here's what I got:
Coin Necklace by Luxe, $45
Riding Jacket by Finders Keepers, $110
Boatneck dress by Mystree, $75
Jersey Crossfront Dress by Amour Vert, $120
The only thing I kept out of this box was the dress by Amour Vert. It's gorgeous and extremely versatile. I hate to put it in these terms, but you could wear it to a cocktail party or a funeral. It was the most expensive item in the box at $120, but I think worth it for something that's going to get so much wear.
I was very bummed that the Daniel Rainn top didn't work out. Can you believe the print on that fabric? It's beautiful! The tie on the top hits around the top of the hips, which cooperated with my chest to made a giant bubble hiding my waist, which is about the last thing I'm looking for in an article of clothing. The other pieces just weren't right for me.
What do you think of the box? Would you try this out?

Prima Donna's Hawt Geek-Out
Um, so, if you've been reading this blog, you may have guessed that I like-like lingerie. I don't know if I spend enough hours on it in a typical week to classify it as a full-blown hobby... What is the cut-off? Does anyone know? But, yes, we have a storied past, and I believe it knows how I feel.
Now Prima Donna is trying unnecessarily hard to reel me in yet again with their current collection... by naming styles after planets in Star Wars!
And one Lord of the Rings locale:
These designs seem to have little to do with their namesakes, but this is the best strategy I've ever seen to get guys to buy bras. (The second best strategy I've seen is the stack of vintage lad mags in the waiting room at Jenette. The third best strategy is convincing him he's a philanderer in an 80s movie.)
While I can't recommend any of these (yet), I CAN recommend Prima Donna's Madison and Deauville collections with several exclamation points, but you won't find them at the end of this sentence, because I'm telling you about the exclamation points in a very calm and serious tone. They're the kind of bra that's comfy enough to laze around in all day, but when you take your shirt off, it will look like you really tried. That's my favorite kind of thing, generally speaking.

Awesome Jenette Bras News!!
Great news!!
Okay, okay. This post might seem a little off-topic, but we're talking about making our lives as easy as possible, right? For big-chested Angelenos (and LA-transplants), Jenette Bras (Hel-Mel, near Scoops) is a godsend. I can't begin to describe the torture I underwent while bra-shopping before this store was in my life.
Even Intimacy, known for carrying up to cup size K, offers a lot of pieces that only go up to C or D. The bigger lingerie chains are worse. In department stores, it's a rarity to find anything over a D that doesn't look like an orthopedic device.
The bras at Jenette (blessedly) start at D and go up from there, AND they're beautiful. Their largely international stock is insanely well-curated. The service is incredible. The employees are sweet and really know their stuff. They keep a card on file for each customer with sizes, likes, and previous purchases. They offer nursing bras and cup-size swimwear! I could go on for a year about how this place is so great it might be imaginary, but I'll just get to the great news.
They just announced that they're expanding! The second location opens next month in Old Town Pasadena. It's an awesome idea for a business executed by nice people and it's really cool to see it succeed. I'm so happy for everybody involved, and I can't wait to check out the new space! And buy everything in it; nobodytellmyhusband.
