Purge of the Day: Chip-and-Dip

Yep, it's official. I am that person. I'm giving away a chip-and-dip because it's not as fancy as my other chip-and-dip. This is what my other one looks like:

I know what you're thinking. "That's a cake stand," you're thinking. 

"It's a cake stand that turns into a punch bowl AND into a chip-and-dip," I think back to you through our special telepathic bond that the other kids just don't understand. Yeah, it's pretty great. Havin' me some cake and some punch over here, but never at the same time.

The old chip-and-dip was one of the last remaining pieces of the Target "party in a box" that my mom very thoughtfully bought for me to use in my campus apartment when I moved to California almost 11 years ago. (Thanks, Mom!) I was reluctant to part with it, but we are going to be very limited on space in our new place and it is redundant with the glass chip-and-dip, which we just received as a wedding gift from a family friend.

 Surviving the purple chip-and-dip are only the coordinating margarita glasses and ice bucket, which I shall continue to use. Every piece of that set was well-loved and put to good use. I had to throw out the coasters when they finally wore out last year (10 years for coasters!), but all the other pieces survived in nice enough condition to be donated, maybe to someone a little younger and in the mood for a party.

Is it weird that this is making me teary? I'm gonna go hide while I pull it together. Okay now, bye!
