Wedding Food

You want to know why this is a timely post? I'll tell you later!

Our wedding was catered by Auntie Em's, which is basically the best place ever. Here are some pictures of our food by Sweet Monday:

Did you see that dessert buffet?? If you ever get a chance to try the chocolate cupcakes at Auntie Em's, do it. Everybody goes crazy over their red velvet, but I think that chocolate cupcake is hands-down the best in L.A. The frosting is so dense and fudgy, it's almost chewy. It's insane. Naturally, we had our wedding cake made of the same tasty materials.

Anyway, our appetizers were sliders, latkes with bacon and cheese, chicken fingers with apricot dipping sauce, and smoky chipotle mac and cheese. Everything went over very well, but the mac and cheese was the biggest hit. And so for my birthday, Jonathan surprised me by ordering a tray of it!

This was the best gift anyone could ever receive. We ate this for several days in a row, and I still want more!

In case anyone is curious, here is the seated portion of our menu:
Oh, yeah. Those mushroom grits were really popular, too, even though everybody was reluctant to try them at first. Mmm... Have to stop writing before I get drool on my computer. Okay, bye!
